Ms. Sweta Basak
Assistant Professor – Humanities
Currently, I am pursuing my PhD from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. For my Ph.D., I am focusing on the macro study of the state-building process in Post-Saddam Iraq and analyzing the prospects and challenges associated with it. In order to comprehend this, the study covers twenty years of the span from 2003 to 2023. For my M.Phil. dissertation, I examined how landmines and other explosive remnants of war impede post-conflict reconstruction for my MPhil dissertation. To further explore the subject, I studied how the proliferation of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) in post-Saddam Iraq restricted security and developmental advancements and complicated post-conflict recovery. My research interests include West Asian Politics and Foreign Policy, State Building, Post Conflict Reconstruction, Arms control, and Indian Foreign Policy.
